Modified Citrus Pectin (MCP) is an altered form of a dietary fiber: pectin, that has shorter carbohydrate chains and maybe better absorbed by the body. In vitro and animal studies show that pectin induces death in cancer cells, and has antiproliferative, and antimetastatic anticancer effects. One clinical study in prostate cancer showed that it doubled PSA doubling time. Clinical studies so far suggest that MCP is beneficial in reducing the level of toxic heavy metals as a chelator as well .

Dose: One teaspoon contains 5g of MCP. Usual dose is one tablespoon twice a day prepared in warm liquid. Reduce dose if diarrhea or abdominal discomfort occurs. Do not take in the company of other medications. A 16 oz jar contains 90 servings.
